BAPTISM

WHAT IS BAPTISM? AND DO I NEED TO BE BAPTIZED?

Water Baptism is a symbolic act publicly professing one's salvation. Water Baptism represents the cleansing of one's sins. In the Bible, God commands his followers to be baptized. As such, we baptize all new believers in the name of JESUS.

Our baptismal resolution: "I now baptize you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost."

(Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38; 8:16; 10:48; and 19:5)

WHAT IS THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT? HOW DO I RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT?

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit inside us. We believe that the ultimate sign of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is when one speaks in other tongues (only known to God) as the Spirit of God gives utterance. The Holy Spirit emboldens and strengthens believers to live their daily lives. Like Salvation, we believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a gift for all believers to receive.

 (Acts 2:4; 10:44-46)
